Cabinet Reshuffle in Nakuru County Government Raises Concerns
Read Time:1 Minute, 14 Second
In a surprising turn of events, Nakuru County has undergone a silent cabinet reshuffle, leaving residents and stakeholders in the dark about the changes.
Despite no official communication from the County Communication department or relevant offices, the alterations have sparked complaints from the electorate, who argue that transparency is crucial in understanding the workings of the county government.
One notable change involves the Health sector, where Roselyn Nungwi has assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer, replacing Jackline Osoro. Osoro, in turn, has been appointed as the Chief Officer for Public Service, Transformation, and Devolution (CECM PSTD).
The reshuffle extends beyond the Health department, as Stella Mwaura has been appointed as the new Chief Officer for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Public Communication.
Meanwhile, Pastor Alex Maina, formerly in charge of Resource Mobilization, now assumes the position of Chief Officer for Sports, albeit in an acting capacity for Resource Mobilization.
The absence of official communication has fueled speculation and concerns among the residents, with many questioning the need for secrecy in such administrative decisions.
Critics argue that citizens have a right to be informed about changes in leadership, especially within key departments that directly impact public services.
As the county grapples with the aftermath of this silent reshuffle, calls for transparency and open communication have intensified. The electorate awaits an official statement from the Nakuru County government, seeking clarity on the reasons behind these changes and the anticipated impact on governance and service delivery.
