Allegations have emerged linking President William Ruto, Naivasha MP Jane Kihara, and businessman Simon David Gicharu to the eviction of over 140,000 elderly Kenyans, widows, and orphans from Ndabibi farm in Naivasha.

According to a statement by Dr. Isaac Newton Kinity, the affected families had lived on the land for decades, with some residents , now over 90 years old , having been born there when their parents worked for the previous landowner.

Dr. Kinity claims that the evictions began after William Ruto became President.

“These elderly Kenyans lived through the governments of Jomo Kenyatta, Daniel Moi, Mwai Kibaki, and Uhuru Kenyatta without facing such forceful removal,” said Dr. Kinity.

Dr. Kinity has alleged that President Ruto, alongside MP Jane Kihara and Simon Gicharu, the Chairman of Mt. Kenya University,  conspired to take over the 5,000-acre Ndabibi farm, despite families having lived there for generations.

The evictions reportedly happened with the use of police force, with claims that some elderly residents were harassed, beaten, and arrested.

“These are people older than the President’s own grandfather, yet they were treated with violence,” Dr. Kinity added.

Dr. Kinity has compared the situation to a past case involving President Ruto. He referenced a 2008 land dispute where a Kenyan,

Adrian Mutesi, allegedly lost 100 acres to Ruto under similar circumstances, only for the courts to rule in Mutesi’s favor in 2013.

“History seems to be repeating itself,” said Dr. Kinity, adding that the Ndabibi residents hope for the same justice Mutesi received.

The timing of the evictions has also raised concerns, as it happened during the planting season.

The displaced families now have nowhere to plant crops, putting their food security at risk.

An elderly resident was quoted asking, “Where will we go? We were born here, and now we have no home or land to farm.”

Dr. Kinity has further alleged that the evictions could be tied to a larger political agenda.

He referenced a 2020 statement by William Ruto about a “Kalenjin problem” with the Kikuyu community, suggesting there might be a deeper motive behind the land takeover.

However, MP Jane Kihara has defended President Ruto’s actions, reportedly dismissing the allegations.

Dr. Kinity has urged leaders to respect the elderly, widows, and orphans, calling for the return of the Ndabibi land to its rightful owners.

“No leader should use their power to grab land from the poor. The law must be respected,” he said.

He expressed hope that just like Adrian Mutesi won his land back, the Ndabibi residents will also find justice.
