Dr Wafula Leads Mama Lucy Hospital to Secure Ksh 17 Million Grant for Expansion

Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Nest 360 for a Ksh 17 million grant aimed at expanding its neonatal care services and constructing a mother’s lodge.

The grant will facilitate the addition of 30 new beds in the Neonatal Unit, ensuring that newborns with complications receive better monitoring and care.

The mother’s lodge will provide a dedicated space for postpartum recovery, making it easier for new mothers to receive thorough medical attention and support.

Dr. Martin Wafula, CEO of Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital, reaffirmed his commitment to improving healthcare services at the facility.

He stated that the partnership with Nest 360 will significantly enhance both maternal and newborn care.

“This expansion will not only improve newborn care but also streamline postpartum management, ensuring mothers receive the best possible support,” said Dr. Wafula.

Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital serves a large number of patients, many from underprivileged backgrounds, making this initiative a crucial step in strengthening healthcare services in Nairobi.
