Dr. Isaac Newton Kinity, the former Secretary General of the Kenya Servants Union, has accused President William Ruto and his administration of widespread corruption, alleging that they have been looting loans and grants meant for Kenya’s development.

According to Dr. Kinity, the administration has been relaunching old, completed projects to deceive the international donor community into providing more funds.

Dr. Kinity voiced his support for the planned strikes by Kenyan teachers, civil servants, and other workers who are demanding fair wages and timely payment of salaries.

He criticized the government for failing to address the needs of its workers while allegedly misusing funds that could have improved their conditions.

“The loans and grants provided to Kenya by the international community, including the IMF and the World Bank, have been looted and hidden abroad,” Dr. Kinity asserted. “Instead of using these funds for the betterment of the country, Ruto and his colleagues are reopening old projects, pretending they are new, to secure additional loans and grants.”

Dr. Kinity’s statement comes amidst growing discontent in Kenya over rising taxes and the economic burden placed on citizens to repay these loans.

He urged the donor community to halt all financial aid to Kenya until President Ruto can account for the funds already received.

“We will not allow William Ruto to continue fooling the donor community. His dirty game is over. The IMF, World Bank, and other donors must demand proof of how previous loans were used before providing any new funds,” Dr. Kinity added.

He also warned that the current situation mirrors the events of 1997 when international aid to Kenya was suspended due to rampant corruption.

Dr. Kinity, who played a role in that decision, emphasized that the international community must take decisive action to prevent further misuse of funds.

The former union leader’s remarks have intensified the debate over the government’s handling of public finances and could increase pressure on the international community to reconsider its financial support for Kenya.
