Historic State Visit to the USA
President Ruto is currently on a historic four-day state visit to the United States, the first by a Kenyan Head of State in two decades.

The visit, themed ‘Partnership for Prosperity,’ seeks to strengthen bilateral relations and enhance collaborations in trade, climate change, and regional security.

Key highlights include a KES 22.8 billion investment plan with Coca-Cola, creating 3000 jobs, and a $1 billion digital investment package from Microsoft and G42.

Finance Bill 2024
The government has published the Finance Bill 2024, aiming to amend tax laws to stimulate growth and investment.

Proposed changes include increasing allowable pension deductions and introducing Advance Pricing Agreements to bring greater tax certainty.

Public participation is encouraged to ensure citizen feedback is incorporated before the Bill becomes law.

Tree Planting Initiative
To combat climate change, the government aims to achieve 30% tree cover by 2032. The National Tree Growing Day saw the planting of over 14 million trees, with significant participation from the public.

Another tree planting exercise will be officiated by Mr. Felix Koskei in Nairobi County on May 24, 2024.
