In a powerful display of community frustratiopn, residents of Kimkaza have hailed Kuresoi North MP Alfred Mutai as a hero after he stepped in to repair the long-neglected Kimkaza road.
The road, under Nakuru County’s jurisdiction, had deteriorated to the point where residents were forced to use a donkey to transport a coffin, highlighting the area’s despair over years of neglect by Governor Susan Kihika’s administration.
The muddy and impassable state of the road, which connects Sasimua to Kamwaura, had turned basic transportation into a challenge. Local resident Job Maina voiced his appreciation for Mutai’s intervention, saying, “We’ve endured years of this muddy mess with no county action. Finally, Hon. Mutai showed us the respect we deserve by making this road usable.”
Susan Wanjiko Mburu, another resident, shared her frustrations over the county’s inaction, adding, “Imagine the pain of transporting a coffin by donkey. Governor Kihika’s office ignored us, but MP Mutai stepped up and made this right.
David Chege, who runs a small business in the area, noted how the repaired road has impacted local commerce. “Now I can transport goods without fear of mud ruining my supplies,” he said. “Mutai did the county’s job, and we are so grateful for his support.”
Youth leader Mike Mumanyi highlighted the message that Mutai’s action sends to local leaders. “Our MP showed us that we deserve better, even if our county hasn’t. We hope this inspires change from Governor Kihika’s office.”
