“Its Over”Groom Amos Says , Accuses Bride Nelly of Deceit

Read Time:1 Minute, 40 Second

In a dramatic twist to the Kapsoyo wedding saga, groom Amos Rono has finally spoken out, declaring an end to his plans to marry Nelly Chepkoech. Rono, 30, accused Chepkoech of insincerity and lack of openness, revealing that she waited until the last minute to disclose her relationship with another man.

“My plans to wed Nelly [Chepkoech] are over because she was not sincere. She only waited until the last minute to open up and declare she was dating another man. She had not fully decided on marrying me,” Rono stated.

Speaking at his home in Kapsoyo, Rono disclosed that Chepkoech informed Reverend Reuben Koech, the Tenwek Area Director of Africa Gospel Church, via a text message on Thursday that she needed more time to decide. Rono dismissed Chepkoech’s claim that the church postponed the wedding, labeling it a “big lie.”

“It is over between the two of us, and I would want to wish her all the best. We enjoyed a good relationship, and I was shocked that she had not told me she had another man in her life,” said Rono.

Rono questioned the motives behind various events during wedding preparations, including the decision not to hold a pre-wedding due to alleged financial constraints.

On Rono’s side, his mother, Sara Nyigei, expressed heartbreak over Chepkoech’s revelation but acknowledged the family’s decision to let her go. Nyigei stated, “She is no longer welcome as one of us in this family; we wish her all the best.”

As the groom’s family released Chepkoech with good hearts, Nyigei emphasized their sincere efforts, having paid part of the dowry. Despite the disappointment, Nyigei conveyed that they would not hold any grudge against Chepkoech and her family.

While Chepkoech and her family initially expressed willingness to proceed with the wedding at a later date, Rono’s family decided to end the engagement, taking the unexpected turn of events in stride. The church, however, remained silent on the matter, avoiding inquiries from the media.
