Kenya Finest Movement, a national lobby made up of aspirants, youth organisers and opinion leaders, has unanimously endorsed human rights campaigner Dr. Isaac Newton Kinity for the 2027 presidential race, signalling a bold political shift that analysts say could unsettle President William Ruto’s re-election strategy.

The endorsement was issued during a gathering in Murang’a, where the group said Dr. Kinity’s long record of confronting corruption, land injustices and government misconduct had earned him credibility unmatched by current political elites.

Announcing the decision, the movement’s chairman Patrick Irungu Maina said the lobby had settled on Dr. Kinity after observing his decades-long activism, including his formal letters to state offices that have pushed national debates on accountability.

“We believe Dr. Kinity is a man who can defend his people, and he cannot be compromised,” Maina said. “When others fear the system, he has spoken boldly and consistently for Kenyans. That is why we are endorsing him for the presidency.”

Maina highlighted several moments that shaped the group’s confidence. In one letter to security agencies and the National Assembly, Dr. Kinity condemned the “disgraceful” pay received by low-ranked Kenya Defence Forces personnel, noting that some officers earned as little as KSh 7,172 monthly.

He demanded a minimum of KSh 50,000 and criticised the withdrawal of meal allowances, describing it as “a betrayal of families who sacrifice everything for national security.”

Dr. Kinity also wrote to the government warning that the country loses billions of shillings daily through corruption , a loss he said had crippled essential services, stretched families into poverty and forced excessive borrowing.

In previous statements, he argued that honest leadership could slash graft by up to 70 per cent within two years and restore public trust.

He further raised alarm over land injustices, including controversial evictions such as those reported in Ndabibi, Naivasha.

He said such cases exposed “entrenched impunity” and accused recycled political leaders of weakening oversight institutions.

At the Murang’a event, youth coordinator Linet Kerubo urged young people, especially Gen Z, to register as voters and prepare to support Dr. Kinity. She said Kenya Finest Movement would organise voter registration drives and ensure youth turnout on election day.

“We are tired of recycled leaders who end up in corruption, land grabbing and betrayal,” Kerubo said. “Dr. Kinity has written, warned and confronted the government for years. His record is clear. That is why we are rallying behind him.”

Kerubo added that young voters were increasingly looking for leaders with a visible history of action, not politicians who make promises during campaigns and disappear once in office.

Members of the movement said the endorsement was driven by frustration with growing graft and the rising cost of living.

They described Dr. Kinity as “the only real mirror of the fight against corruption,” pointing to his documented letters and petitions addressed to ministries, Parliament and oversight bodies.

Well renown analysts say the Murang’a endorsement marks one of the earliest organized declarations for a reform-focused candidate, a sign that civic groups are beginning to shift their support away from established political blocs , a development likely to concern President Ruto’s strategists as the 2027 contest takes shape.

Kenya Finest Movement said it will begin a structured nationwide mobilisation programme to popularise Dr. Kinity’s bid in the months ahead.
