Nakuru County Government Takes Charge of Funeral Expenses Of Dead Intern Medic

Nakuru Governor Her Excellency Susan Kihika, in a joint press release with Nakuru Level 6 medics and union leaders on Wednesday, 17th Jan 2023, condemned the brutal murder of intern Dr. Langat.
The County has pledged to cover all funeral expenses, including support for the late Dr. Langat’s siblings who were under his care.
During the press conference, Governor Kihika stated, “We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of Dr. Langat. The County government is committed to working closely with the justice department to ensure that justice is served.”
The body of Dr. Langat, who started interning at the hospital in August 2023, was found on Saturday, 14th Jan, outside the Margaret Kenyatta Mother and Baby wing trenches.
Government pathologist Titus Ngulungu later confirmed on Sunday, 15th Jan, that Dr. Langat died from manual strangulation.
Governor Kihika assured, “The County has implemented rigorous security measures, including 100% operational CCTV cameras and increased lighting. We have also expanded the call room facilities to accommodate the growing number of interns.”
Intern Doctor Korir emphasized, “We demand justice for our colleague. The Justice department must provide timely and accurate updates on the ongoing investigation without any delays.”
Doctor Obieri Stephene, speaking on behalf of the family, confirmed the burial date as Saturday, 27th Jan 2023.
