A top official in Nakuru County is facing intense scrutiny after handing out what turned out to be a bad cheque during a high-profile event.

The gathering, organized by a popular content creator  three months ago to celebrate the opening of a new recording studio, drew attention when the official, standing in for the County governor, made a series of  “Fake” bold promises.

Among the commitments made were offers to cover recording fees for two rising artists and to fund a music video for their already audio-recorded song. In addition to  the official handed out  cheque, which was seen as a gesture of support for the burgeoning talent in the county.

However, the excitement quickly turned sour when the artists took the cheque to the bank.

After the customary wait for clearance, the bank delivered shocking news—the cheque bounced due to insufficient funds.

The balance was not only zero, but the cheque had never had any amount deposited.

The two musicians, along with the content creator, have been chasing answers ever since, but their efforts have so far been met with frustration.

According to an inside source, there has been little progress in resolving the issue, with those involved being sent in circles without any clear resolution.
