In a scandal that is shaking the county’s corridors of power, a senior blogger attached to the executive office of Nakuru County has been exposed for allegedly swindling unsuspecting job seekers by claiming he had direct connections to employment opportunities within the county government.

Screenshots of leaked chats, exclusively shared with Nakuru Times, show the blogger asking for as much as KSh 25,000 in exchange for what he claimed was a driver’s job in one of the county departments.

In the chats, the whistleblower repeatedly pleads with the blogger for his money back, but the alleged scammer keeps making false promises, saying, “Monday, Monday,” and never delivering.

The source, who opted to remain anonymous for fear of retaliation, said the blogger eventually went silent after months of dodging repayment.

This expose has sparked outrage among the public, with many questioning how such deceit could occur right under the noses of the county leadership.

Some residents are now calling on the County Executive to intervene and investigate the blogger’s actions, which they believe could be part of a larger scheme preying on vulnerable job seekers.

This exposé follows another scandal involving a top Nakuru County official who is facing scrutiny for issuing a bad cheque during a high-profile event. As previously reported by Nakuru Times, the official—standing in for the county governor at the opening of a new recording studio—handed out a cheque to support two local musicians. However, when the artists took it to the bank, it bounced due to insufficient funds, leaving the young talents stranded.
