In a testament to perseverance and dedication, Hon. Macharia Wathiai, the Member of County Assembly (MCA) for Shabab Ward, has successfully graduated with a Bachelor of Business Management in Procurement and Supply Chain Management from Mount Kenya University.
The graduation ceremony, part of the university’s 25th graduation event, marks a significant milestone in Hon. Wathiai’s educational journey.
Hon. Wathiai’s educational pursuit began in 2015 while he was employed at the municipal council of Nakuru. However, his journey was not without challenges. After an initial attempt to secure the MCA position in 2017 proved unsuccessful, he was forced to pause his studies and focus on earning a livelihood in the matatu industry.
Despite the setbacks, Hon. Wathiai remained committed to his educational goals. He resumed his studies in 2021 but had to defer once more as he prepared to contest in the 2022 elections. His efforts were rewarded when he won the MCA seat in 2022, allowing him to fulfill a long-held dream of serving his community.
Now, with a degree in hand, Hon. Wathiai looks forward to furthering his education. He plans to join the master’s program in September, aiming to enhance his knowledge and skills in business management.
Congratulations to Hon. Macharia Wathiai on this significant achievement!
