Nakuru West Jembe Mpya Robinas Makana Condemns Tokenism, Advocates for Genuine Community Empowerment

Hon. Robinas Makana, widely referred to as jembe mpya (the New Hoe) by his supporters, reaffirmed his commitment to transformative leadership as he joined mourners in honoring the late Chief Janet Chepkemoi of Baruti Sub-location.

The respected chief was eulogized as a pillar of her community, known for her fairness, wisdom, and unmatched dedication to service.

Hon. Makana praised Chief Chepkemoi’s legacy, describing her as a symbol of what true public service should entail.

“The late Chief Chepkemoi was a beacon of hope, a leader who served with integrity and humility. Her ability to solve disputes with wisdom and her genuine connection with the people made her a model administrator,” he said.

Makana, the Jembe Mpya Nakuru Town West has been waiting for, used the platform to challenge current leaders to rise above mediocrity and tokenism.

“Leadership is not about throwing breadcrumbs at the people. It’s about digging deep, like a jembe, to cultivate lasting change and empower communities,” he said, striking a chord with the mourners.

The burial, which was attended by Deputy County Commissioner, ACCs, chiefs, assistant chiefs, and political leaders including the MCAs for Baruti and Kapkures Wards, turned into a show of unity and solidarity.

Representing the governor, County Official lauded Hon. Makana as a fresh force in local politics with the vision and courage to drive real progress.

Makana’s growing influence was evident as mourners chanted “Makana Tosha!” and hailed him as the Jembe Mpya poised to cultivate prosperity in Nakuru Town West.

His grassroots approach, focus on development, and unwavering advocacy for community empowerment have earned him admiration across the constituency.

“Makana is the leader we need  a jembe that will till the hard ground of corruption, mismanagement, and neglect, planting seeds of hope and progress,” said a mourner during the ceremony.

With his vision, passion, and the backing of the people, the Jembe Mpya is already plowing the way for change.
