Nakuru’s Lord Store House: Lighting the Way to a Hunger-Free Community

Read Time:1 Minute, 41 Second

In Nakuru County, amidst the challenges posed by the economy crisis and the urgent need for sustainable agriculture and climate change initiatives, a glimmer of hope has emerged. The birth of the Lord Store House in Nakuru County has become a beacon of light, offering relief to the struggling families within the community.

The Lord Store House, founded by Reverend Ben Kiengei and inspired by the successful model in Nairobi, aims to address the lack of food by catering to three specific categories of vulnerable people: those living with disabilities, widows, the elderly, and individuals unable to provide for themselves.

Bishop Benson Ng’ang’a of Chosen Generation Church Nakuru, Kenya, emphasized the collaborative effort behind this initiative during a speech to the media: “We are coordinating with the Lord Store House in Nairobi to ensure that the Lord Store House in Nakuru actively contributes to alleviating hunger within our community. When we assist our community, it is a collective responsibility; we must unite and be our brothers’ keepers.”

Local entrepreneurs like Alex Kuria and Jackson Muriuki have rallied behind this cause. Kuria urged fellow Nakuru County residents to participate in this meaningful project. Muriuki echoed the sentiment, emphasizing the heartfelt nature of giving: “We were sent to Nakuru to join Bishop Ben Ng’ang’a in providing the people of Nakuru with opportunities to give. Generosity comes from the heart. We appeal to the business community to join us and register as contributors.”

The official launch of the Lord Store House is scheduled for October 21st, 2023, at Chosen Generation Church Nakuru Barnabas. Bishop Benson Ng’ang’a will host the event, with Reverend Ben Kiengei as the esteemed guest speaker.
