Tragedy Strikes: Death Toll in Londiani Multi-Vehicle Crash Climbs to 52

The number of fatalities in the tragic accident at Londiani junction along the Nakuru-Kericho highway on June 30, 2023, has increased to 52, according to the latest update from the Kericho County government. Among the deceased, 31 were male, 18 were female, and 2 were children.
The governor of Kericho, Erick Mutai, provided information on the injured victims, stating that 10 individuals were transferred to health facilities in Nakuru County and their conditions are being closely monitored.
In Kericho County, six injured victims are receiving treatment at the Kericho County Referral Hospital and the Londiani Sub County Hospital.
One person is in critical condition at the Intensive Care Unit of the Kericho County Referral Hospital, while five others are in stable condition and recovering in the general ward.
Despite the tragedy, the county authorities shared some positive news, announcing that 11 individuals with minor injuries have been treated and discharged.
However, one person is still under observation in the casualty section, receiving necessary medical attention.
Governor Mutai expressed condolences to the families, friends, and relatives of the victims who lost their lives in the unfortunate incident.
He assured the public that medical personnel are doing their best to provide the injured with the required medical care.
The county authorities also appealed to the public to refrain from sharing distressing photos and unverified information about the accident.
