Margaret Kenyatta Hospital is set for a major transformation following a successful meeting with UNICEF held at it’s premises.
The hospital’s CEO, Martin Wafula, who also doubles as CEO of Mama Lucy Hospital, played a key role in securing groundbreaking deals that promise to elevate healthcare services.
Speaking after the meeting, Wafula emphasized the importance of the collaboration with UNICEF.
“This partnership is a game-changer for Margaret Kenyatta Hospital.. It is a step towards providing world-class healthcare to our community,” he said.
The deals also include support for equipping the hospital with modern technology, especially in critical units such as pediatrics, and funding for key health programs.
The hospital will also benefit from an isolation center for infectious diseases outbreak like Mpox that will be set up.
Furthermore, among the highlights of the partnership was the established state-of-the-art eye center at Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital.
The facility, which is the best of its kind established during his tenure.
Since Kenya is offering an advanced eye care services, it has made the hospital a leader in specialized treatment.
In addition, the hospital has benefited largely from an increase in consultants, growing from 20 to an impressive 70 within a year under Wafula’s leadership.
This has ensured patients receive faster and better-quality care.
