Dr Isaac Newton Kinity, a presidential aspirant in the 2027 General Election, has called on Generation Z and Kenyans from all walks of life to join the Jirani Mzalendo Asili Party, saying the country cannot achieve meaningful change without eradicating corruption and the theft of public funds.
Kinity said corruption and the misappropriation of public resources were among the main causes of unemployment among young people, the killing of Gen Z protesters and the numerous economic and social challenges facing Kenyans.
He urged Kenyans to unite behind his political movement to remove President William Ruto from office in 2027 while ensuring that corruption is fought across both the government and the opposition.
According to Kinity, removing Ruto from power without dismantling the networks responsible for corruption and the theft of public resources would amount to a wasted effort.
He argued that the country needed a comprehensive approach that would see the alleged masterminds of corruption and public funds theft, whether in government or the opposition, arrested, prosecuted and jailed, with all stolen money recovered and returned to the country.
Kinity cautioned Gen Z against relying solely on political slogans such as “One Term,” “Kasongo,” “Zakayo” and “Ruto Must Go,” arguing that chanting slogans or insulting the President would not, on its own, improve the lives of young people or other Kenyans.
He said the ultimate test of political change should be whether it leads to jobs, accountability, improved livelihoods and an end to the theft of public resources.
Drawing comparisons with Kenya’s political history, Kinity recalled the 1990s, when Kenyans chanted “Moi Must Go” in opposition to the administration of former President Daniel arap Moi.
He said that although Moi eventually left office, Kenyans continued to suffer under corruption and the theft of public resources, with the problems persisting to date.
According to Kinity, the experience following Moi’s departure should serve as a warning to Kenyans that removing a president without addressing the underlying problems in the country’s leadership may not deliver the changes citizens expect.
He maintained that corruption was not confined to the current administration, arguing that individuals implicated in the theft of public resources could be found on both sides of the political divide.
Kinity called on Kenyans to reject what he described as misleading promises of change that do not include a commitment to fight corruption across the entire political system.
He said the only way to rescue the country was to remove Ruto from power in 2027 and simultaneously dismantle corruption and the theft of public resources.
The presidential aspirant pledged that, if elected Kenya’s sixth president in 2027, he would eradicate corruption within two years, provided he did not die or become physically disabled before fulfilling the commitment.
Kinity further declared that if he failed to deliver on the pledge, he would resign from the presidency.
“I will eradicate corruption in Kenya within two years. If I fail to fulfil this promise, I must resign from the presidency,” Kinity said in his statement.
He added that his ambition was to create a country where Kenyans could live in peace and happiness, while ensuring that children and future generations inherited a better nation.
Kinity also linked his anti-corruption agenda to the need to create employment opportunities for Gen Z and young people completing school, urging them to join the Jirani Mzalendo Asili Party.
He assured young people that his proposed administration would prioritise fighting corruption as a means of creating opportunities for employment and improving the country’s economic conditions.
He called on Kenyans to read his manifesto and declaration to understand his proposed agenda and assess the work he intends to undertake if elected president.
Reiterating his warning against relying exclusively on the “Ruto Must Go” campaign, Kinity said Kenyans should pay equal attention to what happens after Ruto leaves office.
He argued that the continued challenges facing the country after Moi’s departure demonstrated the consequences of failing to address corruption, which he described as one of Kenya’s biggest problems.
Kinity warned that even if Ruto is removed from office, Kenyans could continue experiencing hardship, suffering and preventable deaths if corruption and the theft of public resources remain unresolved.
He made the appeal in a statement urging Gen Z and other citizens seeking better leadership to rally behind the Jirani Mzalendo Asili Party ahead of the 2027 elections.
Kinity is a counsellor and human rights activist, chairman of the Kikimo Foundation for Corruption and Poverty Eradication, and a former secretary-general of the Kenya Civil Servants Union.
He has urged Kenyans to examine his manifesto and declaration before deciding whether to support his presidential bid.
